Denzel Washington Top 10 Box Office Movies

Denzel Washington‘s latest release “The Equalizer 3” is trending to open at No. 1 in the box office battle over the Labor Day holiday weekend with what Variety is predicting will be a gross of $33-$40 million.

“The Equalizer”(2104) opened to $34 million while 2018’s “The Equalizer 2” debuted to $36 million and each of those films grossed over $100 million at the domestic box office and nearly $200 million globally according to Variety.

“The Equalizer 3” has already been announced as the final film in the series that is Washington’s and director Antoine Fuqua’s only franchise to date.

Leading up to “The Equalizer 3” opening, Washington’s films over his illustrious career have grossed over $4.08 billion worldwide according to the-numbers.com.

10 – “THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN” (2016) $162.1 million. Washington stars as bounty hunter Sam Chisolm who recruits a group of gunslingers to take on greedy industrialist Bartholomew Bogue and his ruthless henchmen as seizes control of the Old West town of Rose Creek. Also starring Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D’Onofrio, Luke Grimes and Matt Bomer. Directed by Antoine Fuqua.

9 – “UNSTOPPABLE” (2010) $165.7 million. Washington stars alongside Chris Pine a veteran engineer and a young conductor attempting to stop a massive, unmanned locomotive that is filled with with toxic chemicals. This was the final film of legendary director Tony Scott, who also worked with Washington on “Crimson Tide,” “Man on Fire,” “Deja Vu” and “The Taking of Pelham 123.”

8 – “DEJA VU” (2006) $181 million. After a ferry is bombed in New Orleans, an A.T.F. agent joins a unique investigation using experimental surveillance technology to find the bomber, but soon finds himself becoming obsessed with one of the victims.

7 – “THE INSIDE MAN” (2006) $175.8 million. A police detective (Washington), a bank robber(Clive Owen) and a high-power broker (Jodie Foster) enter high-stakes negotiations after the criminal’s brilliant heist spirals into a hostage situation. 6 – “THE PELICAN BRIEF” (1993) $188 million. A young law student’s (Julia Roberts) legal brief about the assassination of two Supreme Court justices causes her to be targeted by killers with her only hope being a journalist (Washington) who helps her unravel a conspiracy involving senior government officials in this thriller based on the John Grishman best seller. 5 – “THE EQUALIZER 2” (2018) $190.4 million. Robert McCall’s (Washington) past cuts especially close to home when thugs kill his best friend and former colleague.
