The Devil Wears Prada 2 (released in theaters on May 1, 2026) returns to the high-stakes, impeccably tailored world of Runway magazine, where the landscape of fashion has been radically reshaped by the digital age.

The plot finds Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) grappling with a changing industry that threatens the supremacy of print, forcing her to navigate a corporate environment that values viral clicks over editorial prestige.

Meanwhile, Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway), now a respected investigative journalist, finds her path crossing with her former mentor once again when a massive conglomerate, led by a ruthless media mogul, attempts a hostile takeover of the Elias-Clark empire.

To save the legacy of the magazine, Andy must return to the fold, reuniting with a now-prominent Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) to play a dangerous game of corporate espionage and stylistic warfare.

The narrative explores the evolution of power and the enduring, complex bond between two women who defined an era, proving that in the world of high fashion, some rivalries never go out of style.

Streep slips back into the role of Miranda Priestly with a performance that is even more nuanced and formidable than before, showcasing the vulnerability behind the icy exterior.

Hathaway brings a seasoned, confident grace to Andy, while Blunt provides the film’s comedic heart as the sharp-tongued, ultra-ambitious Emily.

The return of Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling offers a soulful touch of continuity, and the addition of Justin Theroux as Emily’s boyfriend Benjy Barnes, Patrick Brammall as Peter, Andy’s love interest, and Kenneth Branagh as Stuart, Miranda’s new husband, adds a layer of Shakespearean gravity to the boardroom battles.

Traci Thoms returns as Andy’s friend Lily and Tibor Feldman is back as Irv Ravitz, Runway chairman.

Lucy Liu as Sasha Barnes, Benji’s ex-wife, and Simone Ashley as Amari Mari, Miranda’s current first assistant, shine as new additions.

Under the returning direction of David Frankel, the film maintains the wit and visual splendor of the original while grounding it in the realities of the 2026 media landscape.

Cameos include Lady Gaga, Naomi Campbell, Marc Jacobs, Jenna Bush Hager, Donatella Versace, Ciara, Heidi Klum and NBA star Karl-Anthony Towns.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 follows the 2006 blockbuster The Devil Wears Prada, which grossed $326.7 million worldwide.

The original film was based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Lauren Weisberger, based on her experience as an assistant to Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Weisberger penned a sequel in 2013 called Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns.
